Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope that this email finds you well. When I arrived at O’Hara three years ago, I knew that I had joined a special community of people. The hashtag “lion for life” embodies exactly what the O’Hara community strives to be, a dynamic family that once someone becomes a member of it, he or she is connected to this extended family of 32,000+ for life.
After much discernment and discussion with the O’Hara Board, I have accepted the role of Chief Operating Officer for Faith in the Future effective August 3, 2020. In this position, I will work with all of the Archdiocesan high schools, including O’Hara, to advance their missions. Our Board has already launched a rigorous national search for O’Hara’s next president. He or she will continue the tremendous work that our team has done to achieve great successes as it relates to enrollment, advancement, academics, athletics and the arts.
I assure you that the transition during this crucial time will be seamless. An interim plan is being put together to ensure for leadership by the August 3rd transition date, and this information, when finalized, will be communicated with you in a timely mannerIn the meantime, staff continues to be available to help guide your family with any questions that you may have. I have included a contact list at the end of this letter for your convenience. I will continue to be available via this email addresses and my cell phone number which I have shared with you since I arrived here on campus (267-535-0776).
I am proud of the achievements of our O’Hara community. Together, we will continue to push the bar higher for Catholic education in the region. We take great pride in the accomplishments of our students, alumni, and faculty. I look forward to continuing to watch as O’Hara remains a beacon of Catholic education in our nation now and well into the future. I’m grateful to have been welcomed into this family and proud to call myself a “lion for life.”
Jay DeFruscio, President
