Dear People of Grace Episcopal Church,

Your Vestry and Search Committee are delighted to announce the call of our 20th Rector, the Rev. Amity Carrubba. She will begin her pastorate at Grace Church on August 23, 2016. Our new rector is passionate about bringing people closer to God and each other through worship, community and service.

Amity has been an ordained priest for 10 years. She is currently the Sabbatical Rector at Church of Our Saviour in Chicago. It was at Church of Our Saviour where Amity first started hearing and heeding her call to ordained ministry in the early 2000s. In addition to serving as a parish priest in 3 churches in the Chicago Diocese, for several years she was Executive Director of Episcopal Service Corps, a national organization of faith-based young adult service programs.

Amity earned her Master of Divinity degree from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA where she focused in Biblical Studies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Integrative Physics from the University of Illinois in Urbana.

This concludes ten months of work by the Search Committee and the Vestry on behalf of our community. We were well supported by Bishop Lee and his staff. Our work would not have been possible without your full participation and your prayers throughout the process. We look forward to creating a new chapter for Grace with you and our new Rector.

In Rev. Amity Carrubba's own words:

I am overjoyed to accept the call to become your next Rector. My curiosity about Grace began about 15 years ago, so it seems that the Holy Spirit has been drawing us together for quite some time. The search process only strengthened my interest and connection to your community. I look forward to getting to know you better in the months and years to come. Blessings on the last stage of your transition; enjoy your final weeks with Ethan+, who has served you well. In the meantime, I will continue to hold you in my prayers and I ask that you keep me in yours as well.

In gratitude to God and the Grace community,

Richard Coffey and Monique Patterson, Co-Wardens
Terrie McComb and Andrea Billhardt, Co-Chairs of Search Committee
