Nominees for the Ninth Bishop of Florida

Dear Diocese of Florida,

After a comprehensive national search and a prayerful time of discernment, we are excited and grateful to share three nominees for election as the ninth Bishop of Florida.

​We are deeply thankful for the work of our Bishop Search Committee, whose dedication has guided this process with care and faithfulness. We give thanks for the wisdom, openness, and generous spirits of the candidates who have offered themselves to this holy work of leading our diocese. May God continue to guide our nominees, those who will vote on September 11, and all who make up this diocese.

Nominations by Petition

The petition process is an opportunity for nominees to be considered after the preliminary slate is announced. The practice of nominations from the floor of the electing convention is not allowed.

A petitioner has seven days after the preliminary slate of nominees is announced to submit all required documentation described below. The complete nomination petition must be scanned and submitted electronically to standingcommittee@diocesefl.org by 11:59 a.m. on July 15, 2026.

The perspective of every member of this diocese is valuable and important during the bishop election process. The Bishop Transition Committee will soon share more information on Meet and Greets and other opportunities to get to know the nominees. We ask you to subscribe to diocesan emails and engage with the Diocese of Florida on Facebook and Instagram.

Most importantly, please join us in praying for guidance and grace for our nominees, wisdom for our voting delegates, and unity and strength for the Diocese of Florida.
