Hello Mary,
Shore Community Services announces that Alexis India Alm, CFRE, CAP, the organization’s CEO for the past seven years, is retiring in quarter one of 2024. Alexis’ retirement caps an important period of stabilization and repositioning in the life of Shore Services.
Under Alexis’ leadership, Shore implemented an improved billing system that maximizes reimbursable client expenses, strengthened the fundraising program that built up existing donor relationships and identified new donors (exemplified by a recent $500,000 pledge to Shore), helped the board of directors deepen community ties with municipalities and businesses, and successfully steered the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic so that client services were not interrupted.
Natalie Romano, Immediate Past Board President, stated, “Alexis was the right leader at the right time for Shore and we all are grateful for her accomplishments; and, we’ll miss seeing her smile.”
A search committee has been formed to conduct a selection process that identifies Shore’s next, talented leader. Meridith Adams, current Board President (and whose family helped found Shore 72 years ago) said, “Shore was built on a legacy of love by my grandmother, Lois Lloyd, 72 years ago based on the belief that all individuals should be empowered to lead their best lives. Addressing needs and creating opportunities for the clients we serve has always been a hallmark of success for Shore, and we intend to build further on that success with a new leader who understands our value proposition and is committed to taking our organization to new heights.”
Alexis, “I am so grateful to have worked with such a talented and committed team, a passionate and caring board of directors, tremendous volunteers, generous donors, and of course, it’s been a blessing and a gift to have worked with our clients.”
Please join us in celebrating Alexis’ retirement. We are looking forward to a new era for Shore.
Warm Regards,
Meridith Adams
Board President
