BRING YOUR STYROFOAM TO
ST LUKE'S THIS SUNDAY
AND THE ST FRANCIS GUILD WILL
SEE THAT IT IS DISPOSED OF RESPONSIBLY
Styrofoam must be clean, free of food residue. We’ll be in the north parking lot (where print shop is located) from 8:30 am to 11:30 am on April 25.
|
STYROFOAM is not only a dangerous air pollutant but also poses a great threat to humans, the environment, and animals. The worst part is that Styrofoam takes over 500 years to decompose and in the process, it leaches harmful chemicals into the environment.

The Crossroads housing team needs volunteers weekdays between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to help serve our neighbors impacted by COVID-19 complete and submit applications for rent/utility assistance. Many of our neighbors qualify for the City of Atlanta's COVID-19 Emergency Housing Assistance Program but struggle to fill out the application by themselves. Having a kind volunteer walk through the process with them would make it possible to get the assistance they need! Volunteers are needed to volunteers to help people apply both over the phone and in person. Volunteers can choose which one they are more comfortable with. The application is online, so volunteers would need to be comfortable with using a computer. If you are interested in joining us in providing this vital service for our neighbors, please email Sydney Tucker, Housing Program Manager, at stucker@crossroadsatlanta.org. Please specify if you want to help neighbors in person or over the phone, and what days/times are best for you!

It’s a salad of whatever looks good when we shop on Monday.) As always, we’re also offering sour cream pound cake, pimiento cheese, and our frozen entrees. In April, St. Luke's is filling its outreach baskets for Foreverfamily. Please donate Walmart or Kroger gift cards, ideally in the denominations of $50, $75, or $100.
For over three decades, Foreverfamily has been providing services to children with incarcerated parents and their families. Foreverfamily works to ensure that, no matter what the circumstances, all children have the opportunity to be surrounded by the love of family. A basket will be placed outside the reception area doors and we ask that you drop off your donation and then, when you are back in your car, call the desk (404-873-7600) to alert Valerie of the drop-off - and she’ll have someone retrieve your gifts.
