Prayer of the Day
Almighty and ever-living God, you anointed your beloved Son to be priest and sovereign forever. Grant that all the people of the earth, now divided by the power of sin, may be united by the glorious and gentle rule of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen

During this time we updated the performance review process and, along with the supervisors, completed the reviews for all staff. The committee appreciates and thanks the members of the congregation who provided input on our staff. The staff members are a precious resource to Immanuel, and we appreciate them immensely!

Santa Lucia Celebration
Sunday December 15
Saint Lucia (Latin: Sancta Lucia), was a Christian martyr who is remembered as a saint by the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, and Orthodox Churches. According to legend. Lucia brought "food and aid to Christians hiding in the catacombs" using a candle-lit wreath to "light her way and leave her hands free to carry as much food as possible". Her feast once coincided with the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year before calendar reforms, making her feast day a festival of light.
Here at Immanuel, our annual celebration of Santa Lucia will take place at the conclusion of the 10am service on Sunday, December 15. Girls dressed as Lucia carry baked goods in procession as songs are sung.
What we need help with:
1. Youth/Parent participation:
- Invitations with details are being sent out to our youth- please aim to participate in this festive celebration!
- Participants will need to be at Immanuel by 9am on December 15 to practice the processional.
- Immediately following the sermon, we need one adult for each participating girl (regardless of age) to help robe up and place and light candle crowns prior to the procession.
2. Congregation participation:
- Provide treats on December 15 for the baskets which will be consumed during hospitality hour. A wide variety of many holiday cookies, breads, or other pastries will be appreciated!
Questions? Contact the Church Office or Jan Gieselman at 208-861-1262.

Immanuel Celebrates 25 Years of Endowment Funds
Let’s celebrate!
January 23, 2025, will mark the 25th anniversary of the Mission Endowment Fund. That Endowment Fund was created following a gift from Lyle and Barbara Sall, longtime members of Immanuel. You can read their story in this interview that Susan Rowe conducted in 2020.
| |
Immanuel also has a Youth Endowment Fund that predates the Mission Endowment Fund. We are grateful for the initial donors who created a lasting legacy to support the work of Immanuel into the future.
Donors have made new gifts to one or both of the Endowment Funds during the past five years to build on that strong foundation. The Mission Endowment Fund has grown to over $70,000 and the Youth Endowment Fund has grown to over $22,000. As a result, the Endowment Funds have made 15 grants to non-profit organizations and the youth ministry in the last five years. Now that’s worth celebrating!
We’ll honor the generosity of our donors during the annual meeting in January. You can join in the celebration by making a gift now or designating the Mission Endowment Fund and/or the Youth Endowment Fund as a beneficiary in your estate plan. You might even want to consider a gift that includes the digits 2 and 5 to honor the 25th anniversary of the Endowment Funds!
Contact the Church Office if you have any questions or would like to arrange a confidential consultation about unique gifting strategies.
