"We Share God's Gift of Love with All"

Prayer of the Day

O God, judge eternal, you love justice and hate oppression, and you call us to share your zeal for truth. Give us courage to take our stand with all victims of bloodshed and greed, and, following your servants and prophets, to look to the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen (From Sundays and Seasons.)
Worship Times
In-person worship Sundays at 9:30am in the Immanuel Sanctuary.

Current online worship services are updated every Saturday on YouTube.

Pastor Paul is on vacation and Pastor David Ophus will be our presiding minister on August 14th.

Also, please note that Pastor Phil Misner, from the Northwest Intermountain Synod, will be visiting Immanuel September 11th.
UPCOMING EVENTS & UPDATES
Call Committee Update
Patience and persistence is our theme right now. The summer months have brought a small slow down to the call process due to vacations at the synod office and even the committee’s schedules. We did meet in late July and are anticipating new candidate names in the coming weeks. As soon as the committee gets new candidate names, we will move forward with interviews and discernment of how each candidate meets Immanuel’s needs as quickly as we can. We know we would all like the process to move as quickly as possible, but we must be patient as God continues to guide us. We thank you all for your prayers as we look forward to our new beginnings ahead!

Intergenerational Sunday School/Messy Church Begins
with God's Work. Our Hands
On September 11th, Immanuel Lutheran kicks off our new, monthly, Inter-generational Sunday School, aka Messy Church! Messy Church is Christ-centered, for all ages, and based on creativity, hospitality and celebration.

Each Messy Church meeting we will have fellowship, a meal, Bible lesson and a craft or activity. Our first meeting on September 11th coincides with the ELCA’s national day of service, “God’s Work. Our Hands.” Immanuel will be participating along with thousands of other ELCA congregations across the country on this special day. So, after worship on September 11th, please join us for brunch in the Fellowship Hall, followed by several choices of “God’s Work. Our Hands” service activities. Questions? Contact Mary Riedl at youth@ilcboise.org.

Would you like a God's Work. Our Hands. T-shirt? Place your order by Thursday, August 18th. Cost $8.45 per shirt. Drop off payment or mail in to 707 W Fort Street, Boise, ID 83702 with quantity, sizes and contact. Email Office@ILCBoise.org to confirm your order.
Help Us Make Live Stream Happen!
We are looking for volunteers to be a part of our audio/visual team. Soon we will move from pre-recording our online services to live stream. Would you like to learn how to run the camera and sound board for the live stream worship service? We will be setting up a training session soon for all volunteers. All skill levels welcome! Please pass this opportunity on to any you think may be interested. For more information, the Parish Administrator, Carolyn Korn, at parishadmin@ilcboise.org.
Desserts Needed For
Food Fellowship
The Food Fellowship Team needs your help providing desserts for our Tuesday community meals. Cookies, cake or bars without frosting are the easiest for us to individually package for to-go meals. We ask that you provide 60 servings which equates to about four 9 x 13 pans, nine 8X8 pans, or 120 cookies. Store-bought goodies are also accepted. Sign up on iVolunteer on the church website or call the office 208-344-3011.

Donate to Lutheran Disaster Response to Help Victims in Kentucky
Lutheran Disaster Response will work with the Indiana-Kentucky Synod and local communities to focus on long-term needs. They anticipate that the response will include rebuilding homes, replacing lost household items and providing emotional and spiritual care to survivors.

New American Ministry (NAM) Update: Learning to Drive!
Two of our NAM family members are taking driving lessons. Immanuel continues to walk with our New American family as they create a home among us. All donations to the NAM Designated Fund will help support New American families of Immanuel in various ways. In addition, NAM and the Betoubams will host the coffee hour on August 28th and look forward to meeting you! Please come and introduce yourselves. Thank you for your support!

Are These Yours?

Is this coffee press or crock pot yours?
They were loaned to Pastor Paul last year when he moved into the apartment. Please call the office at 208-344-3011 or email office@ilcboise.org to claim either one or both!
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed

The coffee hour helps create an atmosphere of fellowship after worship. Coffee is prepared by staff and ready to serve. Hosts are asked to prepare or purchase snacks to share. Hosting is an opportunity to greet friends and help first time visitors feel welcome and want to return. Our coffee hour hosts embody the welcome Jesus gives us to his realm
