Today's announcements:
-I’d like to thank our PTO who despite our transition to distance learning, continues to work hard to support our students and teachers. They had a two hour Zoom meeting as they begin looking at plans for the close of this school year and the beginning of 2020-2021.

-Be on the lookout for a special E-blast in the next day or two with information about PTO elections for the coming school year.

-Mrs. Carroll is collecting fun pictures of our students in their distance learning mode. Please send her photos you are comfortable being used on social media and perhaps in our school yearbook.

-Below are pictures from yesterday of improvement being made on campus. We're already getting our campus ready for students for the coming school year.
Finishing the Gym Divider
The actual curtain for the gym divider was connected to the frame yesterday. Today, an electrician is finalizing wiring it to power.
Expanded and Improved Wireless Internet
We are also finalizing updating our wireless network in the building. We now have two wireless access points in Fr. Brisson Hall, additional access points in the elementary hallway and updated existing access points."

Distance Learning Photos
Please keep sending photos of Distance Learning to share on social media. We love seeing all the creative ways our students continue to learn at home and it keeps us connected while we stay apart. Please send pictures to Anne Carroll at acarroll@holycrossweb.com .
Community Service Opportunity
One question that I have been asked by many Holy Cross Academy parents is, "How can we help?".

Many HCA families recently stepped up to make donations to St. Mary's Parish food pantry. These donations were greatly appreciated and the need will be ongoing as families in our area are still in need.

Micah Ecumenical Ministries has made our parish aware of a need that they have which HCA families might be able to help with. Our homeless brothers and sisters are feeling very alone and isolated as they can no longer enjoy the community dinner environment. They come to the hospitality center in the morning and are given a bag with their breakfast, lunch and dinner and eat alone.

We would like to ask students to create “meal notes” that consist of a happy message of hope with a scripture verse and/or drawing, letting our area homeless know they are loved and not alone.

Students can make several notes with the items they have at home. No need to buy anything fancy. Cards can be dropped off at St. Mary's Parish. There is a box set-up in the Courtyard Meeting Room so they can drop and go OR mail to St. Mary’s to Elena Doyle's attention. We will bring the cards to Micah weekly until we can gather once again.

Mission Statement

At Holy Cross Academy, we are guided by the spirit of Saint Francis de Sales as we dedicate ourselves to:

  • Create an atmosphere of prayer and reliance on our heavenly Father;
  • Spread the message of Jesus in our families and our community by treating all persons with respect and showing reverence for the gift of God in each one;
  • Build up the Spirit-filled faith community within Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish;
  • Serve those in need in our local community and in the Missions through an awareness of our global responsibility to all humanity;
  • Develop the whole child: spiritually, emotionally, academically and physically;
  • Promote academic excellence by challenging all our students to recognize their gifts and fulfill their God-given potential.
