SUUF Events and news

Come join us for movie night on February 10 where we'll watch the animated film "Flushed Away". It's the story of an uptown rat that gets flushed down the toilet from his penthouse apartment, ending in the sewers of London, where he has to learn a whole new and different way of life. Starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet. Run time 1hr 25min. Doors open at 7pm and movie starts at 7:30.

In March, we will plan a more free-form social gathering instead of a movie: bring a craft or a game and enjoy time in fellowship with each other. We also invite your ideas for activities you'd like to do on these second Saturdays! Email Emily at [email protected]

Happy February Birthdays!

Hi Music Lovers:

What better way to shake off the post-holiday blues than with a HOUSE CONCERT! We're excited to invite you to a house concert we're hosting on SUNDAY Feb. 11 at 2pm. It's going to be a fun and easygoing afternoon of live music, with  Karyn Ann, a Portland-based singer/songwriter known for her bluesy, soulful compositions  Karyn Ann - Fire Song [LIVE] (youtube.com) . And this time, we will even have an opening act!

Described as a "combination of Patty Griffin grit and Amy Winehouse grace" by American Songwriter, Karyn Ann has been charming audiences across the US for nearly a decade. Her powerful vocals and thoughtful songwriting weave together the themes of nature and personal experience into a narrative that highlights the many facets of universal human emotions.

The concert will be held in our music room, which is the perfect intimate setting for an up-close and personal performance. There is a suggested donation of $25. per person to support the performers, and light munchies and drinks will be served. ALL FUNDS go directly to the performers.

Please RSVP, and feel free to bring along friends and family members. ( Just let me know, so I have an accurate count, as seating is limited). We hope to see you here!
