"The River"
This Sunday
January 6
"Growing Into Harmony" - Rev. Tom Bozeman
Celebrant - Matt Bianconi
Since Unitarian Universalists have no creed, UUs often struggle with what it is that binds us together - what is it that makes us UUs? Some scholars respond to this question with, “covenant.” (One way of describing covenant is, “walking together in love.”) Our covenantal tradition is what links us to our forebears and to each other. What is it to walk together in love? What does it have to do with living with authenticity, integrity, joy, and resolve? How might it nourish us and inform how we live our lives?
For the Children:   Children's Religious Education will follow the service on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays of each month.

Also the smaller babies room now was a speaker system installed. If you should need to leave the service, you can still hear everything in there..
Happy January birthdays!!! Best wishes to Lily, Dundas, Yolanda F, Jim Joy, Bethany and any others celebrating your special day this month.

Week 1: Finding Balance in the Midst of Loss
Grief and loss are inevitable companions on our human path. But we don't have to be overwhelmed by them. Together, we’ll explore how equanimity can help us find balance in midst of loss.

Week 2: Preparing For Death by Offering Love
Maybe if I don’t plan for death, I won’t die! ’ This kind of thinking deprives us of an opportunity to leave a loving legacy for those we leave behind. Join us for some clear, direct thinking about our end of life choices.

NOTE : After a 15 minute break, at 11:45, Jon will lead us in a @45 minute workshop to develop plans to make our passing easier on those left behind. Everyone will get a copy of the booklet "Five Wishes", a wonderful publication described as "the living will with a heart and soul".
The workshop session is actually a continuation of today's sermon. Please reserve the extra time and stay. You won't be sorry.

Nancy B. Miller is offering an interactive class on the 7 principles based on Rev. Bruce Davis , "A String of Pearls", An introduction to the UU Principles and Purposes. Jim Heard will sub for Nancy for the second Sunday in January for the 7 Principle Class. Nancy will be out of town This class will be on the 2nd Sudays following coffee hour.
It began Oct. 2018 and will continue for seven second Sundays omitting the second Sunday in Dec.

How is it that we can create communities where a diversity of philosophies and theologies are valued?

What are these values Unitarian Universalists strive to live by and how do they interact with your evolving search ?

The UU's Seven Principles and Purposes came out of conversations in 1961 and were edited in 1984 (they continue to be revised at intervals to ensure their vitality.)

Please come and share your current thoughts on how you feel connected or not to each of the 7 Principles as they are each individually discussed.
Looking forward to your sharing and connecting.
May you be blessed with wisdom,
Nancy B. Miller
