"The River"
Sunday Service On-Line

Regular Sunday services will resume on-line for the duration of this emergency.

We haven't found a way to transmit snacks and coffee, but otherwise we will reconstitute much of the experience of coming to the Fellowship.

The technology platform we're adopting, called Zoom, lends itself to a participatory experience.

We will be together at the same time. We will see each other, talk in turn, chat, listen, and watch. It will be a like campfire for the dispersed.

Rather than presenting the service originally scheduled for this week, we will engage with the topic "Community in a Time of Crisis."

How to Attend Services On-Line

On Sunday morning you will get a brief e-mail from us with a link. That link will take you to the meeting and will automatically enter the password.

The link will also appear in the Announcements from the prior week.

For example, here is an invitation to Sunday's meeting:

Skagit Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Topic: Community in a Time of Crisis
Time: Mar 22, 2020 10:30 AM Pacific Time (US and Canada)

Meeting ID: 992 959 587
Password: 047857

The first time you use it, Zoom will ask to download and install its own app.

If that installation doesn't succeed, you will have the option to access the meeting through your regular web browser. It's not as good, but it works.

You can also join by phone:

Helping Kindness: a note received from Tatum Kenn

Hope all is well,

Just wanted to put it out there that if there's anyone in our Congregation who is at-risk and would like assistance with receiving groceries or other goods, if handed a list and money, I can make some trips.

Best, Tatum.

Say Good-Bye to the Mortgage

The Board of Trustees has authorized the final payment of the mortgage, a timely relief that will help minimize overhead expenses.

Many thanks to the Sherman family for the Souper Sundays that raised enough to make this the last payment.
Volunteer for the Ad-Hoc Program Committee

While we ride through this epidemic we will be holding ourselves together as a community through new varieties of activity. Interested in help to create and roll out some new approaches to spiritual enlightenment, social interaction, and the pursuit of justice? E-mail us.
Happy March birthdays!!!  Best wishes to Mathew, Jasmine, Iola, Susan W, and any others celebrating your special day this month.
From the UUA president:
Electoral politics —especially in this year when it feels like so much is at stake—can be overwhelming, exhausting, and worrisome. When I get caught up in these emotions, I return to my Unitarian Universalist faith and community to help rekindle my hope, refocus my attention, and nourish my spirit.

That’s why I’m so excited about UU the Vote . It is the UUA’s response to our faith’s call to live out our values, and it includes many ways to nurture the hope and courage needed for the work ahead. Explore some of my favorite resources in the links below and share them with your congregation—or with anyone in need of guidance and inspiration in these hectic times.

Yours in faith,
Rev. Dr. Susan Frederick-Gray
