"Second Best Time"

The proverb goes like this: "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today."
This sermon explores our ever-present second best time, and the lives we choose to live there.

SUUF SERVICES

Welcome to SUUF as we approach the Fall Equinox and an inspiring lineup of speakers.
Due to revised state guidelines for which we are grateful & will follow, services will remain online for the foreseeable future.  So find a comfortable space, arrange your device so we can see your smiling face easily, and join us as early as 10:15 for a little chat. Services will still start promptly at 10:30.

September 26
Underground Ministries: What's New. What's Local. What Works.
Chris Hoke introduced us to this amazing organization a year ago; we joined their outreach network (One Parish One Prisoner) earlier this year. Today, we are honored to hear from men who have participated in a newer program, "Resurrection Fellowship". Alvin Shim, OPOP coordinator, will briefly introduce the concept, then turn the screen over to our main speakers, who will tell us how they have found a footing after prison life to become mentors to others.

October brings us variety, loads of religion, Halloween and fun. Stay tuned for...

We Remember
"There is no death, daughter. People die only when we forget them", my mother explained shortly before she left me. "If you can remember me, I will be you always." Isabel Allende, Eva Luna
Our tree holds our deceased members in its branches, along with others we have lost.
Remembering Bill Malcolmson's death. One of our favorite speakers has passed. We say a fond farewell to Rev. Bill Malcomson. Click the link below for an obituary published in the La Conner Weekly News.

It is with sadness that we must report that Warren Keuffel has died. You will remember Warren as a big man who was profoundly deaf and always sat in the front row at church, so he could read the lips of the speaker. He attended our zoom meetings regularly. Warren was visiting his daughters in Salt Lake City when he passed away. We will miss him. We send our condolences to his family and to his wife, Lori Ann Keuffel.

A BG thank you to George Rodger-Clark for getting rid of the old 10 years plus slooooow computer and installing Jorge Manznera's donated computer. Now I'm not spending 25% of my time waiting (sigh) for the computer to respond to commands and no more weird last gasps from a dying computer. Thank you George! Claire
