Announcing: MDI Virtual Conference
Featured Session with Dr. Bruce Perry
We're excited to announce that next month's MDI will feature a session from renowned child psychiatrist and researcher Dr. Bruce Perry. He is the author, with Maia Szalavitz, of The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog, a bestselling book based on his work with maltreated children.
In this session, The Mental Health Effects of COVID-19: Strategies to Support Head Start Program Staff, Dr. Perry will explain how to best support children and families through the current COVID-19 epidemic. He will discuss how patterns of stress can determine risk or resilience and the importance of structure, predictability and moderation in mitigating daily stress as we all continue to work through the current crisis and also look toward transitions back into school and normal activities in the future.

Dr. Perry will be available for a one hour Q/A session with participants. Attendees will receive the full schedule of Q/A sessions prior to the event.

Join us for MDI 2020 and you will have access this session, plus library of 10 sessions available for streaming on-demand on May 21-22.

About MDI

The Managers & Directors Institute delivers high-quality training on critical management and leadership issues. The Institute is a great opportunity to connect with other Head Start leaders in the state to share best practices and learn from one another. While an in-person Policy and Leadership Conference is no longer possible, Head Start California is excited to bring you our re-imagined online virtual event: The 2020 Managers & Directors Institute, with updated content to match the current needs of the Head Start community.
