Practicing Hope Together

This summer, plan to join with others from across the Horizon Texas Conference for the "Practice Hope" study, fellowship and soul care. This study’s purpose is to allow us all to cultivate hope that is honest about our current condition, hope that is restorative when everything feels urgent, and hope that is possible even when we transgress.

The Center provides a safe haven for girls escaping forced marriage, so now they can attend school and thrive. Together we are helping change these girls lives.

• At the Conference UWFaith Lunch on June 10th at SMU: there will be displays of our National Mission Institutions, program exhibits and a short presentation by Sally Vonner, our national UWFaith CEO. UWFaith T-shirts (order here) will be ready for pick-up, Mission u Study Books, and other UWFaith swag will be available for purchase. Bring your item donations to be taken to the girls in Kenya at the Jerri Savuto Center because a mission team is going in late June for the dedication of the JS Center!

• NEW RESOURCES include an important reminder of the role the church plays in standing for justice and supporting vulnerable communities. -- Check out the resources for the humane treatment of immigrants and refugees. Provided by the Horizon Texas Conference, immigration resources can be accessed here. -- Check out the new resources for Creation Care here, including Bible verses, ways you can combat climate change, devotional, FAQ's, podcast and more!

• Resources from our 2025 Racial Justice Event are posted on our website with links to watch the plenary session, explanation of the Charter for Racial Justice and more. Send your photos and we'll add them to the RJ Event photo album.

• Reading Program Reminder: the current reporting period is from September 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025. In the future we will be reporting on a calendar year.
