This presentation highlights nine works of art by Shimon Okshteyn acquired last year by the Flint Institute of Arts, Flint, MI, Grinnell College Museum of Art, Grinnell, IO and The Telegraph Gallery, Olomouc, Czech Republic.

The Flint Institute of Arts is the second largest art museum in Michigan and one of the largest museum-connected community art schools in the United States. Each year, the museum serves more than 160,000 people, through its exhibitions, events, and programs. For 90+ years, the FIA has been responsible for acquiring, protecting, and presenting a collection of art and artifacts spanning the globe. The world-renowned collection, which exceeds 8,500 objects, is significant for its depth of important European and American paintings and sculptures, 15th century to the present, and its extensive holdings of decorative and applied arts including important ethnographic study collections dating back five millennia. The FIA promotes the power of the visual arts by providing lifelong learning opportunities to engage and educate a diverse regional audience.

Grinnell College began forming an art collection to support its curriculum and enrich campus and community life more than a century ago. The College’s commitment to promoting the arts and enhancing the quality of life produced major exhibitions of national and international art and artists.

Telegraph is a multifunctional platform connecting culture, work and leisure. From the beginning, the primary role of the Telegraph was to mediate and support the arts through exhibitions and residencies. Telegraph Gallery broadcasts local and international art produced in the last three decades by creators both renowned and ignored in all forms of expression regardless of the medium.
