A graduate of the University of Miami with a Masters in Public Health from the University of San Francisco, Kristen has more than fifteen years of direct service experience and management of programs for people with developmental disabilities, the last ten with The Arc San Francisco.
Kristen has been the Interim Executive Director since June 2020, leading our teams through The Arc SF's COVID response and pivoting to remote education. Prior to that, she was the Senior Director of Education & Workforce Inclusion, overseeing all of The Arc SF's Education and Career Development programs including workforce immersion internship programs, leading the Amazon Bay Area hiring hub for people with disabilities, launching Radian, our consulting arm providing diversity, equity and inclusion partnership with our corporate community, and spearheading our digital equity work in partnership with PwC and SF Department of Disability & Aging Services.
Prior to her tenure at The Arc San Francisco, Kristen was Director of Development at Oak Hill School in San Anselmo, a school for students ages 6-22 with autism and other developmental differences.
Kristen is a past Circle Co-Chair of the Full Circle Fund, a community that leverages resources and accelerates non-profits to build a better Bay Area. Kristen and her husband, Mike, live in Alameda.
We are excited to bring someone with a long history at The Arc SF, as well as visionary achievements, into this role and look forward to her leadership as we enter a new chapter for The Arc SF. She is a team-focused leader with a strong commitment to future innovation and new opportunities for Arc participants, advancing the programs that change lives and enrich our community.
Kristen's official first day was January 16, 2021. Please join us in welcoming Kristen Pedersen as our new Executive Director.
