The team at Iroquois Valley is excited to share our 2024 Public Benefit Report and provide a Q1 2025 update.
The 2024 Public Benefit Report is a reflection on the collective impact made possible by our farmers, investors, board, and staff. This year’s report highlights:
- Our expanding portfolio of organic, regenerative farms
- Farmer stories from Johnson Family Farm and Diamond E. Ranch
- The strength of our investor community and board leadership
- Our core values, guiding principles, and goals for the year ahead
As we publish this report and close out Q1 2025, we are thankful that our impact-driven investors support over 36,900 acres of farmland, 77% of which is certified organic, while the remaining 23% is in transition.
Our organic, regenerative farmers stewarding these acres contribute to healthier ecosystems and better human health outcomes. With less than 2% of U.S. farmland currently certified organic, the opportunity to create a lasting ecological and economic impact is immense.
We hope you will read the report and celebrate what we’ve achieved together!

BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATE
WELCOME JEFF ANDERSON
Iroquois Valley is proud to welcome farmer, Jeff Anderson, to our Board of Directors. Mr. Anderson is a fifth-generation farmer (second-generation organic farmer) in Northern Illinois and former accountant/auditor. He was raised on a 450-acre Illinois cattle farm, which was converted to an organic grain farm by his father in 1998. From 2012 to 2014, Mr. Anderson transitioned ownership and management of the farming operation from his father to himself.
In 2014, Mr. Anderson became an Iroquois Valley tenant and is currently leasing five Iroquois Valley farms. Today, he and his business partner manage 6,000 acres of organic farmland throughout five counties in various rotations of corn, soybeans, wheat and oats.

FARM SPOTLIGHT
WHOLESOME MEADOWS FARM
Josh and Sara Smith are first-generation farmers raising their three kids—Isaac, Sadie, and Cora—in northeastern Indiana. What began in 2014 as a small farmstead has grown into a diversified organic operation spread across 157 acres. The Smiths own 80 acres dedicated to produce, berries, pumpkins, and pasture-raised laying hens. In 2024, they expanded their operation through a partnership with Iroquois Valley to lease a nearby 77-acre property for rotational grain production. The Smiths view organic farming as a mission to restore and build soil health.

LEARN & GROW
INVESTOR QUESTION OF THE MONTH
Q: I know that Iroquois Valley helps farmers access land, but do you provide any support to farmers post-investment?
A: In early 2025, we began our partnership with the Rodale Institute to provide essential, locally relevant post-investment support.
The Rodale Institute’s Organic Consulting Team is offering Iroquois Valley growers a suite of comprehensive, science-backed services designed to enhance farm profitability, operational performance, and ecological sustainability through their expertise in organic farming practices.
The collaborative program includes site visits, remote agronomic technical assistance, and guidance on topics such as weed and pest management, fertility recommendations, crop rotation planning, tillage reduction strategies, and certification assistance.

CONNECTING FARMERS, COMMUNITIES, AND INVESTORS SINCE 2007
As a corporate guideline, we do not look for specific farmland to purchase or finance. We develop relationships with farmers who want to grow their businesses. We move forward when we have a ready, willing, and able farmer.
