Honoring Legislator and Philanthropist of the Year

At our recent Crossing the Stage celebration, The Able Trust recognized Florida Senator Nick DiCeglie and the late John Pettingill as Legislator and Philanthropist of the Year, respectively, for their outstanding support of our programs for students with disabilities.

Futures in Focus Promotes Student Success

Now in its second year, The Able Trust Futures in Focus program continues to grow and expand local career and postsecondary exploration opportunities to more Florida students with disabilities. Futures in Focus students from Jackson County recently toured Lively Technical College in Tallahassee and learned about vocational training in a range of fields including culinary arts.

The Able Trust, also known as the Florida Endowment Foundation for Vocational Rehabilitation, is a 501(c)(3) public charity established by the Florida Legislature in 1990 as a direct support organization for the 

Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Its mission is to advance employment for Floridians with disabilities through engagement, investment, and collaboration.
