Dear Maimonides Community,
I am thrilled to share that the Maimonides School Board of Directors has appointed Rabbi Yaakov Green, Maimonides Class of '98, as our incoming Head of School. As we observed throughout our extensive search process, Rabbi Green stands out as a strong educational leader, an inspirational Modern Orthodox role model, and a charismatic, personable, and energetic connector who will bolster the spirituality, ruach, and academics at Maimonides School. Among a competitive field of candidates, Rabbi Green distinguished himself as a dynamic leader who will celebrate the Rav’s legacy while adeptly galvanizing our students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members as we embark on a new, exciting chapter in Maimonides School’s illustrious history.
Rabbi Green will officially become our Head of School on July 1, 2022. Until then, he will continue in his role as Head of School at Akiba Yavneh Academy in Dallas, Texas. During the ongoing transition process over the next several months, we will be communicating with him regularly. We will host Rabbi Green again before he officially steps into his new position so that he can continue to meet more of our constituents and become more acquainted with our school community. We are also extremely excited to welcome Rabbi Green’s wife, Elisheva, and their five children into our Maimonides School family!
Jacob Pinnolis will continue serving as Interim CEO for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. We are incredibly grateful that once Rabbi Green begins his tenure, Mr. Pinnolis will continue to have a meaningful impact on Maimonides School as he resumes his role as Chiel Educator-in-Residence.
On behalf of the Maimonides School Board of Directors, I want to extend a heartfelt hakarat hatov to our Search Committee for all of their hard work, and especially to our indefatigable co-chairs, Amy Goldman and Cheryl Levin, for their exceptional commitment, diligence, and professionalism during this year-long search. Every member of the committee invested countless hours on behalf of our school, and their sense of communal responsibility and devotion to the future of Maimonides School resulted in a phenomenal search process and outcome. Thank you also to Prizmah and our search consultant, Amy Wasser, for her expertise, guidance, and support throughout the search process.
Finally, I am deeply indebted to all our stakeholders for their engagement, insight, time, and vital contributions throughout this most important process. These included the Board of Directors, School Committee, Faculty Advisory Committee, All-School Administrative Team, faculty and staff, students, parents, community rabbis, alumni, and our entire community. The success of our search is due to our community’s outstanding collective efforts. Your continued engagement, support, and partnership with Rabbi Green will be crucial to help ensure a strong and vibrant future for our school and our community.
