Breaking: Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners Selects New County Administrator

From the Desk of Commissioner Bobby Powell Jr.

Palm Beach County – District 7

Dear Community Members,

I am pleased to share that earlier today, June 17, 2025, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners selected Joseph Abruzzo as the next County Administrator.

This decision follows an intensive and transparent public interview process held in the Commission Chambers at the Governmental Center in downtown West Palm Beach. The meeting was open to the public, televised live on Channel 20, and livestreamed to ensure full access and community engagement.

Over the course of the day, Commissioners conducted a structured interview with four highly qualified finalists (Isami Ayala-Collazo, Assistant County Administrator, Joe Abruzzo, County Clerk and Comptroller, Keith Clinkscales, Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Management, Palm Beach County, and Patrick Rutter, Deputy County Administrator), each responding to a series of questions in a rotating format. The process concluded with Board deliberations and a formal balloting procedure, ultimately resulting in a majority consensus.

I extend my sincere appreciation to all the candidates for their professionalism and to the public for its continued interest and involvement. I look forward to working with County Administrator Abruzzo as we collectively advance the priorities of Palm Beach County with steady experience and leadership.
