Dear Heilicher Families,
Thank you for investing in Jewish day school education for your student(s). Like you, the Board of Trustees is committed to educating, nurturing, and ensuring the future of Jewish leaders for generations to come. We are honored to serve as stewards of Heilicher’s future in partnership with you.
Setting strategic direction and approving a budget for Heilicher’s financial sustainability are among the primary responsibilities of the Board. We wrestle with balancing high-quality academics with financial accessibility for families. As re-enrollment for K-7 students launches, we want to update you on tuition and tuition assistance for the 2025-2026 school year.
The Heilicher Board of Trustees has approved a tuition increase of 6%. You can find detailed tuition rates on the Heilicher website. Tuition (which covers about 47% of our net revenue), together with our ongoing philanthropic efforts, will support Heilicher’s dedication to:
- Rigorous education across all subject areas,
- Fair and competitive salaries for our faculty and staff,
- Opportunities for evaluation of curricula and innovation in implementation,
- Continued access to impactful experiential education opportunities within the classroom and beyond,
- Refreshed energy to our Jewish life and learning experiences, and
- Professional development and training.
At a time of rising costs, this increase is required to keep pace with being a school of excellence. We strive to make Jewish day school education affordable, and with over 70% of our students receiving some amount of tuition assistance, we are intent on following through on that promise. However, scholarship funds are not unlimited, and priority will be given to families who meet the application deadline. Details about continuous enrollment and tuition assistance applications will be sent later today.
Tuition assistance applications are handled annually through Clarity, based on demonstrated need. Awards are communicated in early spring. We maintain the strictest confidentiality in this process. The Board sets overall tuition and tuition assistance budgets but does not involve itself in individual family tuition assistance decisions.
We are grateful for the privilege of serving Heilicher families and preparing our students to be resilient, critical thinkers who lead with purpose. Thank you for your trust and support as we continue to partner into the 2025-2026 school year.
Todah rabbah,
Esther Goldberg-Davis
President, Heilicher Board of Trustees
