Mrs. Dutil was selected from a competitive and qualified slate of candidates for this position based upon her extensive experience and success in Catholic education and administration.
Mrs. Dutil was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and at a young age moved with her family to Toronto, where she became bilingual in French and English. She attended the University of Toronto where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and later a teaching degree at the Universite d’Ottawa, focusing on bilingualism and religion. Wishing to broaden her expertise, she earned a Master’s of Education degree at Mount St. Vincent University. She served in the Catholic Education system in Toronto for over 30 years as a teacher and administrator.
Mrs. Dutil and her husband are avid sailors and love the outdoors. With their children launched in their own careers abroad, Mrs. Dutil accepted a position as Headmaster in Scottsdale, at the International School of Arizona in 2018. She is now very pleased to be joining the staff at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans.
A lifelong learner, devoted to the Catholic Church, she is eager to share her love of learning and her faith with the students, staff and all families at Sacred Heart. As Interim Head of School, her goals include building community, supporting all of the good work that has been established and bringing her vast expertise in education to the Rosary.
