ADULT EDUCATION -- SUMMERREADS SESSIONS
June 28 & July 26

During the June and July, all are invited to participate in Holy Apostles’ SummerReads. The first book we will read together as a community will be Learning to Walk in the
Dark: Because Sometimes God Shows Up at Night, by Barbara Brown Taylor.
Mother Susan will lead a discussion on Sunday, June 28 following our 11am Morning Prayer service. Participants can simply stay on the Zoom call after the service, or join us around noon using the same link and Meeting ID: 212 807 6799 .

The second book will be announced soon, and Mother Anna will lead a
discussion after worship on Sunday, July 26 .

You can find the first book for purchase at the following sites: Amazon,

Please note this year we are unable to provide editions of the books as we did last year.
In conversation with many of you, there has been desire expressed for opportunity to come together over Zoom and recognize both the losses we have endured during this pandemic and the milestones that could not be celebrated publicly. In response, please mark your calendars for the following:

Thursday, June 11 at 7 pm: Service of Meditation on Loss and Hope.
Bring a candle to light as we acknowledge the grief in our individual and collective experiences since quarantines began in March.
Pray with us as we name our struggles and move together into
a sense of hope and resurrection possibility.

Sunday, June 14: Stay on after worship for a time to celebrate joys and important occasions that have happened during these past three months.
If there has been an event in your life or in the life of someone you love that
should be lifted up, please reply to this email to let us know.
We will take some time after the service on June 14 to name these joys, say a quick prayer, and then eat together (remotely, of course!).
