In previous months, it was announced that TASC Founder and Executive Director, Ken Lane will be retiring after 33 years of leadership on January 1, 2021.

TASC’s Board of Directors are excited and proud to announce the selection of Dennis Rutnam, TASC’s Deputy Executive Director as Ken’s successor.

Dennis has worked for TASC over the past 23 years. Dennis has worked in nearly every position during this time at TASC. He began as a Day Services Instructor, progressed to ILS Coordinator, Day Services Director, ILS/SLS Program Director and, for the past eight years, the Deputy Executive Director of TASC.

During Dennis' time at TASC he has helped Ken turn the small agency into an industry
powerhouse while gaining the respect and support from TASC’s referral sources and colleagues.

Dennis has been instrumental to TASC’s COVID-19 leadership and response. He is a remarkable leader; cautious and smart while at the same time, open and responsive to opportunities for agency expansion to ensure TASC continues to deliver high-quality services for current clients and beyond.

Additionally, Dennis has a keen eye for hiring talented and exceptional staff members and leaders to continue the positive growth and success for the organization. He has all of the traits TASC requires for an Executive Director, especially as we adjust, lead, and model to other agencies during this “new normal” that our field faces.

As such, it was clear to TASC’s Board of Directors that Dennis was the apparent successor as he brings continuity, loyalty and stability to provide the best support for TASC clients and to maintain TASC’s unique kind, caring and family-like culture.

With his remarkable insights and experience, Dennis will bring his passion for helping individuals with developmental disabilities, along with his strong organizational and leadership skills to lead and grow TASC into its next chapter.

We thank our board, staff, family members, key funders, and community supporters for your encouragement and support through this process.

Dennis says: “I have greatly enjoyed being a part of TASC’s growth and development these many years. I have appreciated working so closely with clients, their families and the TASC staff to make sure that the clients are receiving everything they need to live as independently and successfully as they possibly can. I look forward to what the future brings.”

Lastly, this transition would not be complete without having a proper sendoff (virtually) to Ken Lane to give him positive wishes for a great retirement! Please see below invitation for further details.
