The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council and Maryland Works, Inc. Announce a New Funding Opportunity
Seeking Requests for Proposals from Community Service Providers to Improve and Expand the Ways People with Developmental Disabilities are Supported to be Employed and Have Meaningful Days
The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council is partnering with
Maryland Works, Inc.  to provide more funding for Transforming & Improving Practices Through Customized Technical Assistance (TIP Grants).

TIP grants support community service providers licensed by the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration in improving the way people with developmental disabilities are supported to be employed and have meaningful days. Providers will use funds for customized technical assistance from subject matter experts that will help them improve outcomes for people with developmental disabilities and help support organizational change. All grant recipients will participate in a learning community to share best practices and address issues outlined in their proposals.

This is the third round of TIP Grants funded by the Council and Maryland Works, Inc. in the past two years. The previous two rounds provided funding to 23 different community service providers.  A summary of these grants can be found here.

One staff member at an agency that received a TIP grant said, "It is a creative, holistic approach to understanding clients and helping them with their vocational goals. I am planning to collect data about clients' skills and interests differently, in a broader, more creative way."

Providers that have received a TIP grant in the past and support people in multiple counties may reapply for this new round of TIP grants. They are required to demonstrate additional outcomes that will be achieved.

Two pre-proposal information sessions will be held. The purpose and topics of the pre-proposal information sessions will be the same. The pre-proposal information sessions will be the only opportunity to ask questions. Attendance, however, is not mandatory.
