Akron Community Foundation’s board of directors recently approved grants totaling $2,829,995, including $652,500 in competitive arts and culture grants chosen by the foundation's Community Investment Committee, as well as a $75,000 proactive grant to ArtsNow.

Save the date for this year's Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn. Sponsorships start at $2,500 and can be reserved today. Individual tickets will go on sale later this summer.
Join us on July 12 as we congratulate our donors, fundholders, grantees and professional advisor partners for another extraordinary year of impact. You'll learn about the exciting initiatives we've recently accomplished and those we're embarking upon this year, including our latest strategic plan. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. There is no cost to attend this event, but reservations are required by July 5.
In September, Akron Public Schools will welcome educators and administrators from all over the country to learn more about an innovative model it launched here in 2017: the College & Career Academies of Akron. The event will showcase the extensive engagement of the business, nonprofit and philanthropic partners that make up this educational model, including Akron Community Foundation.
