Congratulations to Winners of the Urban Design Competition for Graduate Students

 Our sixth annual competition

Nathale Nicoletti, Winner, Best Design and Streetscape

Ian Wood, Winner, Best Site Plan and Neighborhood Engagement

DePaul Community,

We're pleased to announce the winners of the Chaddick Institute's sixth-annual Urban Design Award Program, a competition for Sustainable Urban Development graduate students. Each student submitted a 3-D model using SketchUp and neighborhood maps prepared using Illustrator and GIS, for a vacant parcel on 2052 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago.

Their work illustrates the technical skills gained by students through the SUD program. Our committee is preparing feedback for each participant. Our winners:

  • Nathale Annete Nicoletti, Winner, Best Design and Streetscape.
  • Ian Wood, Winner, Best Site Plan and Neighborhood Engagement.
  • Madison Scott, Runner Up, Best Design and Streetscape.
  • Alejandra Pineda Medina, Runner Up, Best Site Plan and Neighborhood Engagement.
  • Samantha Rouzan, Honorable Mention, Best Design and Streetscape.

I thank all of those who submitted proposals. The winners will be recognized at a Chaddick Institute event this autumn. A special shoutout to Mayra Shuja, who joined me to head the review committee, and Bylthe Chesney for administrative support. Congrats to Nathale, Ian, Madison, Alejandra, and Samantha!
