Announcing our New Choir Director and Organist: Nicholas Mynyk

Christ Church is happy to announce that the parish has hired Nicholas Mynyk as choir director and organist. Nicholas is a recognized leader in the professional, academic, and sacred music fields. Having considerable experience as a performer, teacher, clinician, and minister of music; he brings to us a wide breadth of knowledge, experience, and passion. He has performed as a solo pianist, organist, harpist, harpsichordist, violinist, and conductor throughout the United States, France, Monaco, and Italy. Nicholas has served as Vice President and President of the Philadelphia Music Teachers Association and is an active board member. During his tenure as President, he spearheaded a scholarship program for underrepresented students and teachers in Philadelphia. He is currently chair of the organization’s Kiszely Carnegie Hall Memorial Recital, NYC. During his Doctoral studies, Nicholas also served as a graduate teaching assistant at Temple University teaching both undergraduate and graduate students as well teaching elementary and high school students. 

Nicholas is an Episcopalian and has served at St. Peter’s in Perth Amboy, Trinity Cathedral, Trenton, Princeton University Chapel, and most recently at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Newtown, PA, and Yardley United Methodist Church in Yardley, PA. He is affiliated with and has taught at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, Community Conservatory of Doylestown, Temple University as a Doctoral Teaching Assistant and continues to teach at St. Andrew School in Newtown, PA.

We will see Nicholas from time to time over the summer as he begins to set up shop. And we will officially welcome him to the parish when he begins with us on Sunday, September 1st.
