Through data collected during On the Table Greater Akron and a community needs assessment, Akron Community Foundation's board and staff have identified three key areas in need of proactive funding: diversity, equity and social inclusion; drugs and addiction; and the aging senior population. The first $225,000 of a promised $500,000 investment has been announced, with grants going to the Greater Akron Chamber's Elevate Greater Akron initiative, the Women's Network, and Direction Home Akron Canton.

Akron Community Foundation announced nearly $3.4 million in grants this quarter, including more than half a million dollars in board discretionary funding for civic affairs programs. Several of these grants will support community engagement and beautification efforts, such as a $7,500 grant to Akron Parks Collaborative to support the Friends of Parks program.

Exciting updates on our building expansion projectBuildingExpansion
Akron Community Foundation's building project continues to move forward, with the first phase of renovations scheduled for completion by late October, and the second phase scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2020. The foundation will remain open throughout this expansion project. Guests may park behind the building and enter through the west entrance.
