The Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance, Inc. (YANA) and the Yale Entrepreneurial Society (YES) are proud to announce a new collaboration! Drawn by a common interest in connecting mission-driven Yale alumni and students, the new collaboration will bring together the expertise and experience of YANA members with nascent student social impact ventures.
The collaboration will be carried out through:
(1) Monthly workshop
programs hosted by YANA exclusively for YES student members. The workshops will feature expert speakers on given topics, followed by breakout groups where such experts and others will work with the students about their particular projects. YANA will provide the expert speakers and workshop hosting; YES will share these programs with their members and with other Yale students who might be interested in YANA and social impact. The workshop topics are designed to complement the YES social impact venture development curriculum taught by YES to a student cohort over the course of one semester. YANA members who are interested in speaking at one of the upcoming workshops listed below, please contact Rachel Littman
- How to Approach New Charitable Projects
- Building Your Budget (Funding and Financials)
- Building Your Board (Trustees, Advisors)
- The Future: Growth, Expansion, Succession Planning
(2) A mentoring program
that matches Yale alumni with certain skills and expertise to the needs of student social ventures at various stages of development. Topical social impact areas include: use of technology for social impact; services for senior citizens; education and educational reform; journalism; women’s health; and others. YANA members who are interested in being a mentor to a student-led social impact venture, please register here.
