  • Complimentary SEJ one-year membership/renewal, if eligible ($70 value)
  • Complimentary conference registration inclusive of ticketed events ($800 value)
  • Up to five (5) nights’ lodging at SEJ’s conference hotel ($1000 value)
  • Travel (airfare, ground travel to/from airport, and travel day meals) reimbursement up to $1000

The Uproot Project is a network for journalists of color who cover environmental issues, as well as students and others aspiring to cover this beat. Uproot is dedicated to advancing the careers of journalists of color who’ve been historically underrepresented in this field.
