The Michael R. Toney Volunteer of the Year Award* recognizes PHRA volunteers who are highly involved in a PHRA Committee, support the PHRA programming and events, and generally have an enthusiasm for the PHRA and its activities.

Diane Houser SHRM-CP, ConnectiveRX Co-Chair Membership, Diversity & College Relations Committee Diane has been a leading resource supporting a myriad of benefits to PHRA members and the overall advancement of the industry.  Diane works toward identifying ways to make the PHRA an inclusive organization, and to diversify membership, programming, and leadership. James Miller IMA | ESS Networking Committee Member The work done in any organization grows from the conversations and efforts of people outside of an individual’s immediate sphere. James provides opportunities for our members to promote themselves as professionals by expanding professional boundaries and showcasing the talents and efforts of the Association’s volunteers and members.

Ron Kubitz FORMS+SURFACES Social Media & Communications Committee Member and Director Ron uses social media to connect and engage members positioning PHRA as the “go to” HR resource Pittsburgh.  Through Ron's efforts, members can regularly connect and interact on social networks, ultimately raising the profile of PHRA using social media. Lisa Petro SHRM-SCP, Cornerstone Care Past President, Supports Various Committees Lisa is dedicated to satisfying the intellectual appetite of our members to increase their knowledge, whether in a specific HR skill set or more general business acumen. Lisa has a significant hand in all the educational programs and initiatives brought to the members.  Lisa listens, provides insight, and is a guiding light for more junior board members and volunteers.

Luanne Shock, SHRM-SCP Chesapeake HR Consulting, LLC Membership, Diversity & College Relations Committee Member and Director Beyond the desire to bring new members to the Association, Luanne has been instrumental in working with committee members to brainstorm new meaningful opportunities to grow and enhance membership benefits and opportunities. Luanne consistently goes above and beyond supporting all PHRA activities.

Lenore Seifer, SHRM-SCP, PHRA’s President, will announce the Award Recipient during breakfast at the PHRA Conference on September 28, 2022.

*in 2015, the PHRA Executive Committee established the Michael R. Toney Volunteer of the Year Award in honor of Mike, PHRA Past President. For over 15 years mike brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to all aspects of our association’s strategies.
