Announcing the New

IEEE 1560 Working Group

We are delighted to announce the formation of a new working group to update and renew IEEE 1560, "IEEE Standard for Methods of Measurement of Radio Frequency Power Line Interference Filter in the Range of 100 Hz to 10 GHz"

THE SCOPE OF THIS STANDARD INCLUDES:

Uniform methods of measurements of radio frequency power line interference filter attenuation performance in the range of 100 Hz to 10 GHz are set forth. Nonloaded and loaded attenuation measurements are presented with varying source impedance, including radiofrequency current injection with linear and nonlinear load impedances. H- and S-parameter measurements are introduced for modeling results. New methods for placing filter performance criteria on a filter label are also included.

Members of the working group do not have to be members of the EMC Society or of the IEEE. A technical background and interest in the subject matter is the key requirement. We anticipate the working group will generally meet monthly, online, throughout 2025 and beyond. If the subject matter of IEEE 1560 is relevant to you and you have time to commit, please consider attending the kickoff meeting next month and joining the working group.

The kickoff meeting of the working group is currently scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 9 am UTC-6. If you would like to be notified when the meeting invitation and/or registration link for the IEEE P1560 kick off meeting is available,
