NOTE - The TGSF's mission is, in part, to promote the sport of steeplechase racing. As such, we have offered to assist all fall race meets and point-to-points with their race day promotions. We appreciate your support of the sport of steeplechase racing!
Shawan Downs, in an effort to provide additional racing opportunities to Amateur Apprentice riders and give horsemen additional flat racing opportunities, is pleased to announce the Shawan Downs Flat Races.

The Flat Races will be held on Sunday September 27, the day after the Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs. There are two divisions of Amateur Apprentice flat races (Open, and Maiden) and those two divisions will be split as needed.

The full conditions are listed below. Entries will be taken through Central Entry Office.
In addition, Shawan Downs will offer TIMBER SCHOOLING, before and/or after the flat races. Interested parties must contact Danielle Oster to register for timber schooling. The price for timber schooling is $150 per horse.

For three year Olds and Upward. Three-year-olds, 150 lbs; Four-year-olds, 155 lbs, Five-year-olds and older, 160 lbs. To be ridden by Amateur Apprentice Riders. No rider allowances. Entry fee $150.
One Mile and Five Eights on the Turf.

SECOND RACE
(Maiden Amateur Apprentice Training Flat)
For three year Olds and Upward which have never won a race. Three-year-olds, 150 lbs; Four-year-olds, 155 lbs, Five-year-olds and older, 160 lbs. To be ridden by Amateur Apprentice Riders. No rider allowances. Entry fee $150.
