Hello everyone! I'm excited to announce our new quarterly well-being newsletter for the department due for publication this fall. This newsletter is for everyone: anesthesia faculty, learners, staff, and CRNAs. Every quarter, we'll be sharing well-being news and content that will brighten your day! Our goal is to declutter your inbox by reducing emails related to well-being. As always, we're open to feedback on how we can make this newsletter even better, so please send me your ideas! Jina Sinskey, MD, Associate Chair of Well-Being.

Join a Well-Being Taskforce

We're actively looking for members to join one of our taskforces. The above image displays the several taskforces that are currently active. Everyone is invited--faculty, learners, staff, or CRNAs. Interested? Then email Joyce Chang with your taskforce preference to be added to the listserv. Please join our new well-being community. Questions? You can contact Jina Sinskey or any of the taskforce leads.

Caring for the Caregiver Program Offers Peer Supporters for Anesthesia Community Members

UCSF Anesthesia Peer Supporters2.jpg

Did you know that our department has over 40 Caring for the Caregiver peer supporters? Peer supporters are here for you to lend a friendly ear and provide support during difficult times. A big thank you to our peer supporters (see list above)! Conversations are legally protected and completely confidential unless there is an issue of personal safety.

Interested in being a peer supporter? Additional peer-supporter training sessions are being scheduled. The next training session takes place via Zoom on December 14 from 5 pm to 6 pm. If you are interested, please sign up by emailing [email protected]. Find out more about the Peer Support Program.

Introducing the Well-Being Steering Committee

Our Well-Being Initiative is moving forward thanks to the ongoing efforts and commitment of our steering committee members. As you can see from the above chart, each member represents a particular professional group or location. Please contact your representative should you have questions or want further information about our well-being advocacy.
