IECRM Announces the Winners of the 2023 Summit Awards - A Celebration of Excellence in the Electrical and Renewable Energy Industry

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) held its 17th Annual Summit Awards, a celebration of excellence in the electrical and renewable energy industry. It was a resounding success, bringing together a record-breaking number of more than 300 leaders and professionals in the electrical industry to celebrate excellence and network in a fun and memorable atmosphere. The event took place at Empower Field at Mile High.

The evening began with lively networking, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres in the West United Club of the Broncos' stadium, where guests could taste the finest cigars in an outdoor lounge overlooking the football field. IECRM Alumnus and Master Electrician Chris Hoag hosted special safety tours taking guests behind the scenes to see the inner workings of what powers the state-of-the-art stadium. Afterward, guests enjoyed a gourmet-plated dinner with John Elway's 7Cellars wine. They were able to visit with those at their table while awaiting the commencement of the much-anticipated awards ceremony.

The Emcee for the evening was Dan Hardee, the Regional Brand Manager and Afternoon Drive Host for 99.5 The Mountain – KQMT. David Scott, IECRM Board President and Human Resources Director with Encore Electric, Inc., joined IECRM CEO Marilyn Akers Stansbury on the stage to present the awards to the winners of the 2023 Summit Awards, which had 67 nominations.

Jason Jones, Founder and Principal of Legacy Electrical Solutions, was honored to present Jeff Thompson with the Legacy Award for lifetime achievement in the electrical industry on behalf of IECRM. Jason met Jeff through the IECRM Emerging Leaders Program and later coached Jeff’s grandson’s baseball team. Jeff announced that he’d be retiring this October, so IECRM connected with Jeff’s colleagues to plan a special tribute to his achievements and successes throughout the years with a special video and a custom-made t-shirt that outlines a timeline of his milestones and achievements. “As a fellow IEC Member, father, and coach, I appreciate our shared love for family, baseball, and the electrical industry. I wish you all the success in your next chapter as you have achieved in your career,” said Jason.
