Greetings Houston Members,

NABA Inc. is thrilled to introduce two esteemed leaders who will play an integral role in the relaunch of the Houston Chapter. Meet Brittani Bishop, the Western Region President, lifetime member and a member of the National Board of Directors, and Christopher Mitchell, newly elected President of the NABA Dallas/ Ft. Worth (DFW) Chapter.

The Western Region has taken great pride in supporting its chapters throughout the region and is highly focused on the Houston area.

We are excited to kick off the relaunch of the Houston Chapter. Being one of the major markets in the Western Region, it is imperative that we continue to drive great partnerships, networking, training, development and more for our students and professionals.

You are invited to join us at our Virtual Townhall on August 16, 2023, and an in-person event in September. We look forward to hearing from you all and driving towards the goal and objectives of our members and the organization as a whole.

Please submit inquiries or leadership interests to Shasta Foy, Director, DOF and Chapter Relations, at sfoy@nabainc.org.

Why NABA?

Since its inception in 1969, The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA Inc.) has addressed systematic challenges faced by Black accounting professionals. In the late 1960s, there were approximately 100,000 people who held the CPA designation, of which 150 were Black. Since then, NABA has created solutions that eliminate barriers to entry in the accounting profession for underrepresented minorities. Today, through the efforts of NABA, and other interest groups like the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), there are more than 200,000 underrepresented minorities participating in the field of accounting, with more than 5,000 holding the CPA designation.

NABA Now

Over 50 years later, The National Association of Black Accountants, now known as NABA INC., continues its commitment to its mission and legacy by providing a platform for Black business leaders and allied institutions to enhance their business acumen and elevate their voices. NABA has expanded its mission of “Lifting as We Climb” by creating solutions that bridge the opportunity and wealth gaps for Black business leaders in accounting, finance, business and entrepreneurship.
