2024-25 Annual Audit Work Plan Released

Today, I am pleased to release my Office’s 2024-25 Annual Audit Work Plan.

Every year, my Office determines what to audit based on mandated responsibilities, community concerns, limited resources, and urgent issues. Our Annual Audit Work Plan details this process so you may see how we identify and prioritize future audits.

Our Annual Audit Work Plans reflect my Office’s ongoing commitment and efforts to audit areas that matter most to Oaklanders while holding our government accountable for improving operations and delivering critical City services more effectively, efficiently, and equitably.

I want to thank Oakland residents, Councilmembers, City leaders, community leaders, and City employees for sharing their concerns and ideas with me through emails, interviews, and meetings. It is important to me and my team that we incorporate your concerns and ideas into our work.

Ballot Measure Analyses Read Before Election Day

Per the City Charter, my Office is responsible for independently assessing the financial impacts of local ballot measures. Three local measures have qualified for the November ballot. We strongly encourage Oakland voters who want to learn more about the financial impacts of these measures to review our independent analyses:

1.    Financial Analysis of November Ballot Measure - Wildfire Prevention Financing Act of 2024 (released July 30th).

2.    Financial Analysis of November Ballot Measure - Oakland Community Violence Reduction and Emergency Response Act of 2024 (released July 30th).

3.    Financial Analysis of November Ballot Measure - Modernize and Strengthen the Public Ethics Commission (released July 26th).

If you have any questions about our financial analyses, please contact my Office.
