President's Corner

Greetings school board colleagues!

I hope you agree MABE Annual Conference 2023 was one for the books! There was something a little different -- and pretty special, if you ask me -- about our gathering this year. It felt like we had a renewed energy, enthusiasm, and hopefulness. Thank you so much to MABE's Conference Program Committee, co-chaired by Pat Dorsey (Carroll County) and Carol Mueller (Harford County), for such hard work and creativity in putting this year's conference together.

I encourage you to link to related resources below from MABE Annual Conference 2023. We'll be meeting at The Westin Annapolis for next year's event and will share additional details as they become available.

If you attended Annual Conference this year, you may remember on the last day I shared that it's at times like these that our fellow educators and students need our leadership more than ever. I expressed my confidence that, collectively, we have the power to achieve the highest-level outcomes for each and every student in Maryland. By being smart in our planning and priority setting -- particularly during ongoing Blueprint for Maryland's Future implementation efforts -- we can achieve so much. Huge projects really can be daunting and exciting at the same time, and I see great things and bold progress in our future.

I hope you do, too.
