The 2021 FRA Annual Conference in Fort Myers is quickly approaching! Set for October 27-29, we have so many exciting events and opportunities planned.

Here are a few updates:

  • Registration is set to open this month and will close on October 13. With the interest we have already seen, please plan ahead and register as soon as you can.

  • The hotel's remaining inventory is very limited. If you still need a reservation, you must now wait to register for the conference and then receive the group code.

  • Please be aware of scammers! If you receive any calls or emails from anyone other than Heidi Hogarth regarding room rates, this is a scam.

  • Exhibitor and Corporate Participant packages are available. See for yourself why becoming an exhibitor and/or corporate participant is the right choice for your company or organization.

We look forward to seeing everyone in October and are eager to be back in person! Please be patient as we continue to plan and prepare for one of our biggest conferences of all time.

Did you know? FRA has its very own podcast that streams on all major platforms!

Redevelopment Works is a program full of information, hot topics and best practices for Florida’s redevelopment professionals.

Led by FRA’s executive director, the podcast is a resource for public and private sector members alike to effectively operate within a community redevelopment area.

If you are interested in being a guest speaker on an upcoming podcast episode, please contact our communications team.
The Homestead Community Redevelopment Agency recently introduced a First Time Homebuyer Program.

The overarching goal of the program is to enable residents to achieve the dream of homeownership.

“A driving force behind revitalizing a community is homeownership because it generates wealth-building opportunities that provide a pathway out of poverty, increase education attainment and job security, and improve health and well-being," HCRA Director Kametra Driver said.

With the program, eligible first-time buyers can receive down payment and/or closing cost assistance of up to $10,000. Current residents of the community redevelopment area will be eligible to receive up to $15,000.
