The Message this Week

Preaching Text: Exodus 16:1-18

In between Elim and Sinai. The Israelites have been ‘on the road’ for two and a half months so far and they are still in the wilderness. We will hear that the people are not always excited to be in between. The same is often true for us- we love to see progress and accomplish goals. But what are we missing in the in between? Let’s explore together in worship!

God of the Journey, You are with us in the beginning, at the end and everything in between. Help us to see your provision and care when it feels like not much is happening. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

How does the church develop a budget?

The GLC annual congregational meeting will take place this Sunday, October 5 immediately following the 10:30AM worship service. Child care will be provided. We need a quorum of approximately 50 people to approve the budget. Please contact Kraig Mickelsen, Council President, if you have any questions. • Open our hearts in gratitude for all that we have received, that we might give you the praise and honor befitting your goodness.
• Wake us up to our responsibility to care for this planet, and remind us that our lives are deeply connected to its future.
• Help us to work within our communities to ensure that all of our neighbors have enough to eat. Strengthen those who work toward just laws that provide what is needed to live for all people.
• Shower us with your healing and surround each person who suffers, drenching them with your presence and love.
• Give us the faith shown by saints that have gone before us, and patience when the way ahead seems unclear.

We lift all these prayers, and those of our hearts, to your loving care, O God. Receive them and restore our hope in your promises. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
