Annual Georgia Stand for Life Friday, January 26, 2024

Join us for the annual Georgia Stand for Life on Friday, January 26, 2024! Georgia Right to Life has hosted this annual event every year for over 40 years to bring public awareness to the issue of abortion and the millions of people who are missing from our world as a result.

In keeping with its tradition, Georgia Right to Life is hosting its annual GEORGIA STAND FOR LIFE on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Liberty Plaza. The event will include:

Praise and worship music

A memorial service for more than 64 million preborn children who have died by abortion since 1973

Testimonials and speakers with a focus on Prenatal Equal Protection in Georgia

An opportunity to fellowship with community leaders, pro-life organizations and beyond

A silent march through the streets of Atlanta beginning at approximately 12:45 PM.

We look forward to seeing old and new friends at this event! More details will be shared in upcoming emails.

What is the purpose of the Georgia Stand for Life?

This annual event has a two-fold purpose: It serves as a memorial to the lives of more than 64 million preborn children whose lives were taken by abortion since 1973 and an opportunity for those who advocate for life to be encouraged and educated in their continued efforts to bring equal protection to children in the womb in Georgia.

Why the name change of the event?

Just as this event has changed its venue and focus over time, the name was changed to reflect current initiatives.

Further, in  2023, GRTL leadership chose to not affiliate with the National March for Life but rather to remain independent in its ability to hold this annual event.

Annual March

and Rally History

Are you one of the faithful pro-life Georgians who has been attending this event year after year for decades?

You may remember that the annual march and rally began in the 1980s as the "January 22nd Memorial Committee" held annually on (or near) January 22nd, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

The first event was a Prayer Breakfast, and the second year the event was held at the State Capitol. The Memorial service and March began in the second year.

'Together for Life' was the popular name for the event, and from 2014 to 2023 the annual event was known as the Georgia March for Life.

Beginning in January 2024 the annual event will be known as the Georgia Stand for Life and will include a Memorial service, an End Abortion Rally, and a Silent March.

Why has the event date changed?

To accommodate many people who plan to attend the National March for Life event on Friday, January 19, 2024, GRTL chose to move the date of its annual event to the last Friday in January beginning in 2024.

How is this year’s event different from last year?

This year we will see the return of Praise and Worship music – which many of you asked us to bring back to this event. Also, we have combined our memorial service and equal protection rally so that more people can participate in both. We also plan to offer a tour of the capitol, hosted by our prolife legislators and friends, prior to the Georgia Stand for Life.

Is the event affiliated with a national event?

This event is not affiliated with a national group or event. It is solely a Georgia Right to Life event.
