New York Nonprofits - February 2016

NPCC Annual Meeting

Tuesday, March 29 4-6pm
Catch up on NPCC's activities during the past year and find out what's happening in the nonprofit world. This year's event will include a panel discussion with top nonprofit experts and conclude with a networking reception. Diversity and culturally competent organizational practices is one of the Eight Key Areas of Nonprofit Management Excellence that guide NPCC's signature program - the Nonprofit Excellence Awards. Through this program, we have found that many nonprofits in the New York City area are struggling to understand and implement diversity and inclusion as core management strategies. The panel discussion, moderated by Ana Oliveira, president & CEO of the New York Women's Foundation, will address this issue and kick off a sector-wide conversation on how we can all do better. The event will be held at JP Morgan Chase 4 Metrotech Center, Brooklyn, New York.

The law applies to employers with four or more employees and prohibits employment discrimination against employees caring for a minor child or an individual with a disability. It becomes effective May 4, 2016.
