Resilient Jacksonville Plan wins Resilience & Sustainability Award from American Planning Association
The American Planning Association has announced its 2024 Planning Award winners. The Resilient Jacksonville Plan, originally released in October 2023, uses lessons learned from Hurricanes Matthew and Irma to establish a roadmap for a more climate resilient future for the city. The plan includes 45 specific resilience action items, and delves into the items' priority levels for specific neighborhoods throughout the city. According to the jury responsible for award selection, "The plan showcases a comprehensive and thorough approach to resilience, utilizing an intersectional strategy that addresses climate change adaptation at multiple scales — from the regional scale all the way to the scale of the block."
