May 21, 2018

Dear Fellow Members,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I call you to attend our Annual Congregational Meeting on Sunday, June 3, immediately following the worship service. This meeting is your opportunity to participate in making important decisions for our church, and a chance to exercise our 5th Principle (the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large).

Attached to this message you will find:
• The agenda for the Congregational Meeting
Minutes from the 2017 Congregational Meeting
• A summary of proposed changes to the Endowment Fund By-Laws
and an appendix for the addition of one member to Endowment Committee
Proposed Budget for FY 2018-19

Just click on the blue words to follow the link to the documents.

As you can see from the agenda, we have a lot to accomplish at this meeting. On May 20, we held a listening session, spearheaded by Kaz, to afford members an opportunity to ask questions and have a deeper discussion about the FY 2018-19 budget. It is our hope that this discussion will help shorten the amount of time we have to spend on this agenda item at the Annual Meeting. At this meeting, Randy Rapp also presented the proposed changes to the Endowment Fund By-Laws.

In order to get through all of our business, a two-minute limit on individual comments and questions will be observed during the Congregational Meeting. Also, to keep the meeting time at a reasonable length, total discussion times on items are shown on the agenda.
If you have any questions or concerns, I invite you to contact me or any member of the TOLUUC Board: Carol Alfus, Pat Costigan, Rebecca Heisler, George “Kaz” Kazlusky, Patrick Kerin, and Mike Stough.

I hope you will plan to attend this key meeting on June 3. It is your presence that makes Tree of Life Unitarian Universalist Congregation the vibrant congregation that it is!

In spirit,

Carrie MacDonald
TOLUUC Board President

P.S. We need a quorum in order to conduct business. Please plan to attend. Absentee ballots will not be allowed at this meeting.
