Did you know that the season of Epiphany began January 6? It follows the 12 days of the season of Christmas. Epiphany is the climax of the seasons of Advent and Christmas and lasts until Ash Wednesday. The season of Epiphany looks ahead to the mission of the Church to the world in light of the Nativity. Epiphany means “to show”, “make known”, or “reveal”; it remembers the Three Wise Men (Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar) bringing gifts to the Christ Child, who in doing so, revealed Jesus to the world as Lord and King.
Thank you all who supported the dinner for the Syrian refugees who have begun a new life in St. Louis. 120 parishioners dined on delicious Syrian food. $1,700 was generated for each of the two families who prepared the dinner.
Please contact WelcomeNeighborSTL.com or parishioner Lily Ott for additional information about the organization which supports these families with emotional and social support by partnering volunteers with new families.

AN INHERITED FAITH: Have you ever had a child ask you a BIG question that you weren’t sure how to answer—questions about life and death or why the world isn’t always fair? Or what does God look like? Why did Jesus die? Responding to children’s religious, spiritual, and existential questions can be scary. You might think you need a PhD in theology!! In fact, you only need the willingness and a little confidence. This course can give you both! You will feel prepared to respond in an authentic and loving way to inquiring minds from two years old to young adults. Make plans now to attend our Wonderful Wednesday classes! This class will be led by The Rev. Amy Bertschausen Wednesday, January 23 through February 20. Dinner at 5:30 PM, class from 6-7:30 PM and Compline (optional) at 7:30 PM. Childcare with advance reservations by Monday, January 21. Register by e-mailing marty@csmsg.org

Jan Torrisi-Mokwa was invaluable in enhancing the Women's Ministry at The Church of St. Michael & St. George, as well as founding the ECW Steering Council by lovingly guiding the group through a process that brought our value and mission statements to fruition. One of the ways that her memory will be honored is by establishing a fund to support the Women's Retreats that Jan so dearly loved. The money will be used to pay for retreat leaders as well as provide scholarships for attendees. If you would like to contribute, please make your check payable to CSMSG and note "JTM Women's Ministry Fund" in the memo. Please contact Laurie Brown at Laurie@csmsg.org if you have any questions.
