President's Message
It is hard to believe that my term as president is coming to an end. It was a busy year, perhaps that is why it has passed in the blink of an eye. We have hosted two successful continuing education events, and have two more coming up. We got HB1420 passed which granted Massage Therapists of Maryland their very own board.

AMTA plays a vital role in our profession, and I hope that this year each member will find a way to serve the organization that serves you. We will continue to monitor legislation that affects your ability to practice massage therapy.  We will continue to provide affordable networking and continuing education opportunities. If you have stepped up in the past, we thank  you.  If you have been thinking about it, now is the time.

I thank you all - the members of AMTA - MD for allowing me to serve you as president of the last year. It has been an honor, a joy, and an experience that I will cherish.  I have met many new, interesting colleagues, made many new friends, and enjoyed it to the fullest.  I hope that you will re-elect me as your president for the 2016-2018 term.

We want to know your opinions!

We will be holding chapter elections for the following positions:

Earn CEUs - Build Your Practice, One Happy Client at a Time
After our business meeting, all those who are interested are invited to join us for a two hour CE class on building your practice with Amelia Mitchell, LMT.  The focus will be how everyone, regardless of where they work, can build connection with clients. This connection, this relationship, is what helps people receive better sessions, and us give better sessions. Amelia will bring effective techniques to build your client - therapist bond, and build your practice. There will be lecture, small group discussions, and time for your questions.
Amelia is the 1st VP of the MD Chapter, and she is volunteering her time to teach this class.
Standing Rules Change
We will be voting on changing our standing rules to allow us to conduct online elections for open board positions.  This will allow for members who are unable to attend the meeting to cast their vote for board positions.     Proposed standing rules change
