Investing in the Future:
ANCA's 2024 Annual Report

ANCA and our partners are working at a pivotal time — where investments in our rural communities today are essential for building a strong, stable economy that will sustain North Country farms, businesses and communities for generations to come.
In ANCA's 2024 Annual Report, you’ll find stories of people and projects we supported this past year — each demonstrating how ANCA leverages our relationships, reputation and expertise to advance a timeless mission.
Together with partners and the people we serve, we are building a future where our communities are resilient and thriving.

How Welcoming Are the Adirondacks?
This summer, Colgate University student Leigha Schultze joined us as an Adirondack Diversity Initiative (ADI) fellow. She contributed to an ongoing study on how visitors to the Adirondack High Peaks perceive the area in terms of welcoming and inclusivity. This research supports the NYSDEC's Visitor Use Management (VUM) planning by evaluating whether people feel welcome in wild spaces in the Adirondacks.
| | | In this month's What's Up North Blog, Leigha reflects on her fellowship with ANCA and ADI and the role local nonprofits play in empowering community members to enact positive change that benefits all who live, work and visit our region. Read about her experience on our blog page. | | On a Roll: Raising Awareness by Bike and EV | |
A Beautiful Day to Bike the Barns
Wow. Sunday's weather and vibe were perfect for ANCA's 8th Bike the Barns! Thank you to all who joined us in Westport, New York for this celebration of North Country farmers and local food entrepreneurs, and all they do for our rural communities and landscapes.
Over 250 riders and supporters participated in the event, where cyclists had a chance to meet and learn from farmers and business owners along the route, experience their farms and lands up close, and engage more intentionally with the local food movement.
Special thanks to the BikeADK crew for their expertise, our amazing sponsors for their fiscal support, our host partners at Camp Dudley, farm stop hosts, the generous folks who donated raffle items, food and drink providers at ADK Food Hub and Ausable Brewing Company, our eager volunteers from Ithaca College and elsewhere, and the local band Ploughman's Lunch.
Your engagement and support truly made this a special day. Thank you!
