1964

NFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

at Municipal Stadium, Cleveland

Browns vs Colts

Only $19 PPD !

The original color film of the '64 Browns regular season highlights, plus the memorable 1964 NFL Championship Game at old Municipal Stadium are now both together on this DVD! As a bonus, we have also added almost a half hour of rare, B & W news footage containing scenes of the Browns last practice leading up to the title game and locker room interviews with players, including Jim Brown, coach Blanton Collier and even Colts head coach Don Shula! Altogether, there's almost 1 1/2 hours of rare, vintage 1964 Browns footage here, more than has ever been offered before on any DVD!

The first chapter covers all the highlights from almost every regular season game! Narrated by voice of the Browns Ken Coleman, the segment includes beautiful closeup shots of many Browns heros of 1964, such as quarterback Frank Ryan, the fabulous fullback duo of Jimmy Brown and Ernie Green, brilliant rookie Paul Warfield, ageless Lou Groza, Dick Schafrath, Larry Benz, Vince Costello, Johnny Brewer, Bill Glass and Galen Fiss. Other Browns are shown throughout, including Gary Collins, Gene Hickerson, Jim Houston, Walter Beach, Dick Modezelewski, rookie Leroy Kelly and many more!

Narrated by Chris Schenkel, the special chapter on the '64 Title Game shows all of the big plays and tells the story of the game. The turning points of the game are dissected with the help of "super slow-motion" photography. Many plays are shown several times, each from a differenrt angle. This historic film shows why the Browns, who were heavy 8-10 point underdogs going into the game, were not only able to beat the mighty Colts, but shut them out 27-0!

Turn these facts into QUESTIONS

at your Super Bowl Party!

  • The NFC and AFC alternate each year as to which conference representative will be the "home" team. This year the NFL team (Philadelphia) will be the "home" club, and as such will get to select either their road "whites" or "home" colors. The Chiefs will then be forced to contrast colors, depending on what the Eagles choose. Interestingly in 2021, the Bucs were hosting the Super Bowl in their home stadium, but chose to wear their "road whites", forcing the visiting Chiefs to wear their home "reds"!

  • New York's original AFL team, under the ownership of former sportscaster Harry Wismer, was first known as the New York Titans. Under new owner Sonny Werblin and with coach Weeb Eubank for 1963, the club was re-named the New York Jets.

  • When Joe Namath led the Jets to their famous upset victory over the Colts in Super Bowl III, he did not attempt a single pass in the final quarter!

  • The only teams never to play in the Super Bowl are the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans. However the Lions won three NFL World Championships in the 1950's, each time beating the original Cleveland Browns (now Baltimore Ravens).

  • The ticket price of the best seats for Super Bowl I at the L.A. Coliseum in 1967 was $12.00 - and it still was not a sellout!

  • The first Super Bowl was simulcast in the U.S. by both pro football networks (AFL by NBC and NFL by CBS). Sadly, neither network bothered to save a complete-game copy of their broadcast and none exists today!

  • The Kansas City Chiefs as well as the Green Bay Packers each played in half of the first four Super Bowls. The Packers would not appear again until Super Bowl XXXI (1997) and the Chiefs not again until just three years ago! Both teams won in their first time back after all those years!

  • The only player on a Super Bowl losing team to win the game MVP award was linebacker Chuck Howley of the Dallas Cowboys (SB V).

  • In Super Bowl XXII (1988) rookie running back Timmy Smith rushed for a record 204 yards, as the Redskins defeated the Broncos 42-10. He also scored twice with TD runs of 58 and 4 yards. However, game MVP was Doug Williams who set a new record for passing yards with 340 and became the first black QB to ever win the Super Bowl!

  • A 31-yard field goal by the Chiefs Mike Mercer was the first FG ever scored in Super Bowl history (SB I vs Packers).

  • In Super Bowl XLVIII (2014) the Seattle Seahawks defense scored a safety on the first play from scrimmage, just 7 seconds into the game! It was the quickest score in Super Bowl history.

  • The Buffalo Bills were the first team to lose three Super Bowls in a row when they lost to the Cowboys 52-17 in Super Bowl XXVII (1993). The following year they lost a rematch with Dallas in Super Bowl XXVIII 30-13, making them the only team to lose 4 Super Bowls in a row!

  • Super Bowl XXXVI marked the first time in SB history that the winning points came on the final play of the game. A 48-yard FG by Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri lifted the Pats over the St. Louis Rams, 20-17 in 2002.

  • Since the Packers and the Steelers had dissolved their cheerleading squads prior to the 2010 season, Super Bowl XLI became the first in history without cheerleaders!

  • Super Bowl II was the first to use Y-shaped goal posts invented by Jim Trimble and Joel Rottman. These had made their debut at the start of the 1967 season in both the AFL and NFL.

  • The lowest scoring Super Bowl in history was Super Bowl LIII (2019) when the Patriots beat the Rams 13-3 in Atlanta.

  • In Super Bowl XLVI (2012) Tom Brady set a record with 16 consecutive pass completions, however the Patriots still lost 21-17 to game MVP Eli Manning and the New York Giants.

  • The San Francisco 49'ers became the first team to win 5 Super Bowls when they beat the San Diego Chargers 49-26 in SB XXIX (1995). It was the highest scoring Super Bowl ever with 75 points scored).

  • The most points scored by one team in Super Bowl history was 55 by the San Francisco 49'ers vs the Denver Bronco in SB XXIV (1990).

  • In 2013, the opposing head coaches were brothers (Jim and John Harbaugh). "Big brother" John's Baltimore Ravens handed Jim's 49'ers a 34-31 loss in Super Bowl XLVII. It was the first time San Francisco had ever lost a Super Bowl. This was also the year "The lights went out" during the game at the New Orleans Superdome.

  • Only one Super Bowl has ever gone into overtime. In SB LI (2017) New England trailed Atlanta 28-3 with 2:15 left in the third quarter. But 25 unanswered points by the Patriots sent the game into overtime. N.E. won the OT coin flip and a Tom Brady to James White TD pitch won the game, 34-28. It is the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history.
