Reminder: Annual Plan Due Aug. 15
|
|
The 19/20 consortium annual plan is due Aug. 15, 2019. To complete the annual plan, each consortium must type into NOVA its 19/20 annual plan, along with objectives, based on its recently submitted three-year plan.
This 19/20 annual plan will drive the member work plans and budgets that are due in September. The member work plans are based on the annual plans, but it will not automatically be visible for members in NOVA until the consortium annual plan is entered and approved.
If you need a refresher on
submitting
your annual plan in NOVA, register for the Aug. 9 webinar, titled
Annual Plan Submission and More
. CAEP's Neil Kelly and Veronica Parker will walk you through the process.

CAEP Onboarding Tool for Newcomers
Now Available Online
|
|
The CAEP Office is excited to announce the new onboarding tool developed for consortium leaders who are new to CAEP or new to consortium management. This may include anyone from consortium directors and consortium staff to new member representatives.
Find the tool at
resources.caladulted.org/onboarding
. The tool provides an overview of CAEP's beginnings, with the basics of the legislation and the various tools needed to carry out implementation of the program.
Begin with the Getting Started page for overviews on the legislation governing CAEP, program guidance and fiscal guidance, as well as basic resources you’ll use often. Next, stop by the Data Driven Decision-Making and Technology page to learn about planning, student data collection and reporting, and fiscal reporting, as well as links to the adult education systems used for data tracking and reporting.
The Effective Consortium Management page provides resources helpful for consortium organization, and the Proactive Outreach page includes resources your region can use to get the word out to community stakeholders about the work you do.
Some of the tools are still in the works, but we wanted to get this out to you as soon as possible so those new to CAEP can start learning now!

CAEP Governance Survey Results Are In
|
|
In June, we sent out a survey to all 71 adult education consortia to better understand how they govern.
The results are in! Sixty-six consortia responded to the survey, giving us a good sampling of the various governance structures. Thanks to all who participated in the survey.

Reminder: CAEP Summit 2019 Registration
|
|
The CAEP Summit 2019 at the Hyatt Orange County is around the corner! To prepare for this exciting event, CAEP TAP would like to register everyone sooner rather than later. By now, all consortium leads have received their allotted number of registration PINs and instructions on how to register. Please either use the PINs or return them to CAEP TAP. There is a growing wait list of consortia requesting additional PINs. In August, CAEP TAP will begin to re-distribute unused PINs.
Visit the CAEP Summit 2019 website for information related to registration, hotel accommodations, discounted Disneyland tickets and more. Register for the summit and book your hotel room today as space is limited for both!

Last month, Amanda Bergson-Shilcock, Director of upskilling policy at the National Skills Coalition (NSC), laid the groundwork for how California can ensure WIOA works for all, including immigrants and refugees. During a webinar, Amanda shared about resources intended to support frontline workforce staff in facilitating eligible immigrants’ access to public workforce services.
